In early December, we enjoyed a first time ever meeting of SI and SHC for the CCS Championship. There was no high school or college space available that could fit the crowd that would inevitably show up for this event. So the two schools worked together, and some high profile folks helped out, and this great City rivalry met at AT&T Park. It was very cool and exciting. Tommy had a sleepover with Nana that night, so we only had to worry about one kid on the giant bleachers set up in the outfield. Lucy had two outfits for the game, always ready in case the course of the game changes in the direction of one team or another.
She started out for Daddy's team
But as it got colder and the scoreboard got more interesting, she shifted her loyalties to Mama's team
Glad she got to wear her panda hat to AT&T park since it probably won't fit by April...
This is the view of the SI cheering section just before the end of the game. They estimated 10,000-12,000 people were there for this little high school game!
We left right after the Cats won it and right before a portion of the railing in front of that cheering section fell down. Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt, but a few of my students did end up on the field as they fell from the bleachers! Either way, it was an incredible night for San Francisco!
