Clara's Buggy Birthday
We had a blast at Clara's Ladybug-themed birthday party on Sunday.
Joey & Tommy seemed to have a particularly fun time (thanks to Sara for taking pics)

Lounging
More from Nana's sofa.
Having an after daycare beverage:

Relaxing to some tunes (Jack's Big Music Show Soundtrack)

Um... apparently a tornado hit and the sofa fell on the boy. If only he were wearing striped socks here.

Grandma's Backyard
Tommy and Grandma enjoying some Pacifica sunshine last week. They played with this misting hose for quite a long time, pretending to jump rope and, of course, pulling Tommy out of the mud.

Auntie Amy also came over to play this weekend and had to pose for Grandma's "photo booth"

See You On The Pitch
Tommy recently received a genuine Irish hurley, brought back from Ireland by Noreen. He has taken practice time very seriously, even planning how he will slip the hurley to the future arrival for two-man drills (don't read into that, I still don't know).

See how ready he is, he doesn't even smile in his portrait.

And just to show Tommy embraces all cultures:

Wow wow!
Tommy came with me to my Dr. appointment today. I reassured him that HE was not going to the doctor, but that Mommy and the baby were going to the doctor. He was cool with that. Everybody's been asking if Tommy "gets" what's going on. It's hard to say but he certainly talks a good talk. He will tell you there's a baby in my belly, he no longer believes that Shawna is the only person who has babies or that he has a baby in his belly. But this was the first time since our appointment at like 9 weeks that he came along to an appointment so I was hoping he would have fun. Dr. Wiggins was happy to see him and talked with him more than me during the appointment! He also got to hear the baby's heartbeat or "lub dub" for the first time. When he heard the sound he tried to replicate it - Wiggins was very impressed! So now if you ask Tommy what the baby sounded like he says: "Wow, wow, wow, wow". Super cute.
(if you haven't heard a fetal heartbeat through a doppler, trust me it actually totally sounds like wow, wow, wow, wow)

In Conversation...
Jennifer and Nana watched Tommy for a little while last night and Jen sent this report this morning:
Tommy’s chilling at the chalk board reading off letters.
He says M A R C O spells Marco.
I asked who’s Marco?
Marco’s a nice boy says Tommy.
Then T O M M Y spells Tommy.
Who’s Tommy I ask?
Tommy’s a big boy.
It was adorable.
I can also report that on Sunday we had lunch and a double Target/Costco trip with Greg and Jeff. When we dropped them off I asked Tommy if he had fun and he said yes. I said, "Greg and Jeff are nice boys, huh?" Tommy says, "Greg and Jeff are nice friends." Awwwwww

Fun at Nana's!
Who loves a semi-retired Nana? We do!!
Nana has been a lifesaver as this busy school year is already underway and Tommy loves when she picks him up from Paula's house. Here are some pics Nana sent out today:
I believe this is a "bike" he made with Jennifer

She even feeds him...
...But he has to work for it first!
