Tommy came with me to my Dr. appointment today. I reassured him that HE was not going to the doctor, but that Mommy and the baby were going to the doctor. He was cool with that. Everybody's been asking if Tommy "gets" what's going on. It's hard to say but he certainly talks a good talk. He will tell you there's a baby in my belly, he no longer believes that Shawna is the only person who has babies or that he has a baby in his belly. But this was the first time since our appointment at like 9 weeks that he came along to an appointment so I was hoping he would have fun. Dr. Wiggins was happy to see him and talked with him more than me during the appointment! He also got to hear the baby's heartbeat or "lub dub" for the first time. When he heard the sound he tried to replicate it - Wiggins was very impressed! So now if you ask Tommy what the baby sounded like he says: "Wow, wow, wow, wow". Super cute.
(if you haven't heard a fetal heartbeat through a doppler, trust me it actually totally sounds like wow, wow, wow, wow)

So cute! I made the mistake of teaching Nikos "Where's your baby sister" which involved him lifting my shirt up to look at my belly. This was fine at home, but when he started doing it while we were out (Starbucks, Target, etc.) when I was 9 months pregnant, it wasn't so pretty. Even worse? He did it a few times AFTER I had the baby. Not good.
