Twain Harte

We went to Twain Harte over Father's Day weekend with Grandma and the Cecchin cousins, and friends. It was a beautiful weekend, not crowded at all, not that hot, and with very minimal drama. Ahhh, vacation! Here with minimal narration (since I'm really far behind on updates!) is the Twain Harte 2011 photo essay.

We brought our orange to the beach

Family picture attempt

Modeling her swimwear

Tommy really enjoyed laying on the warm sand to dry

She specifically requested, nay demanded, that I take her picture here.

On the beach this year, Tommy enjoyed rowing in a boat alone or all the way across the lake with Daddy.

The swim lessons (and agonizing weeks in the early attempts at swim lessons) paid off! Tommy successfully and joyfully entered the (cold) lake water this year without drama for the first time in his five trips to Twain Harte. He also jumped off the raft into the arms of anyone who'd catch him (here Daddy)
Lucy attempted the water as well, and found it fine but a little cold, so she stuck to shore most of the weekend (and thus ended up in more photos.)

"Hey Dada, I'll hold this football and you..."

Of course, we played mini golf!
Another classic picture of Tom and Mike.

It must be noted and celebrated that Uncle Mike, after a lifetime of trying, finally won a free game at the mini golf place. We've been playing here our entire lives. I know I did it once as a kid and will never forget it. Don't know about Tim and Jeff. But this was Mike's turn and he did it! He was so excited. A lifetime, nearly 30 years of effort and a high school/college golf career and he finally hit the ball in the right hole and won a free game of mini golf in Twain Harte!

And the next night, after a life time of trying (nearly four years) Clara Jane won a free game too!

The End
