So Long, Soccer!

Tommy's soccer season ended today.

Things Tommy enjoyed:
1. Getting out in the fresh air and enjoying largely surprisingly nice weather!
2. Playing "mosquito" with dad and practicing together.
3. Frequent water breaks and trips to the sidelines to see his fans.
4. Getting to see #1 soccer fan, Papa Tom nearly every week for the last few months.

Things it appears Tommy does not enjoy:
1. Playing soccer. (at least the part where one team plays against another and everybody has to run around and chase a ball).

Tommy often had to be bribed or coerced into actually playing during the scrimmage.  "You can get a sip of water if you touch the ball once."  "You can get a sip of water if you dribble over there."  "No play, no snack."  "If you don't play soccer, we can't go to gymnastics afterward."  Yet, he went willingly each week, enjoyed putting on his shin guards and cleats and getting muddy.

Plus he likes his trophy

Getting used to a few more years on the sidelines, Lucy was a big cheerleader for Tommy today.

(I should note that I don't think Tommy was actually playing at this time, she was just cheering for and supporting him regardless.)

That's ok, we've still got gymnastics and... T-ball registration is now open!
