Jennifer picked Tommy up at daycare yesterday so she got the news firsthand. This is how we heard it.
There is a boy at daycare who brings a toy of his own from home and everybody knows not to play with it. Apparently Tommy didn't like this policy and relieved the boy of his toy while scolding him with a "No, no, no" and a wag of the finger (too much Colbert Report in this house). The boy apparently did not appreciate this and thusly proceeded to bite Tommy in the face. Fortunately he chose the fleshy cheek area and didn't break the skin. There are just some tooth abrasions on his cheek.
Paula apparently felt horrible about this. She says this boy has never bit anybody before. And the reaction of the scarred Tommy's parents? We laughed and told Tommy he got what he deserved! What a punk!

A tip of the hat to Tommy.
Dad remembers someone taking a bite out of Meredith at the same age. I don't remember that at all. (Natalia...or Natalie???? seem to have stuck in dad's mind.)
Did you 'borrow' their Barbie, Meredith?
If you'd like, I can teach Tommy some of the methods I used to use for dealing with problem kids at day care.
