When both boys gave up their binkys a couple of weeks ago, both separately exclaimed word for word "I'm not a big boy, I'm a baby!"
Sara reports that halfway through Mother's Day yesterday, Joey proclaimed it "Joey Day." Hmmm... sometime around 7:30am I was informed it was "Tommy Day" despite the adorable card I'd just been given with Tommy's name scrawled on it (with Daddy's help!)
Finally, late last week Tommy, out of nowhere, announced that he'd like to sleep in his "big boy bed." We've had that toddler bed sitting in his room for almost a year and I was going to try transitioning him this summer (when we could sleep in if it didn't work). But this kid makes up his own mind about things and so we're 4-5 nights into Tommy sleeping in his big boy bed. We did not master naptime in the bed over the weekend, but with some reading and snuggling (not comfortable in that tiny bed) he falls asleep and (mostly) stays there. Thank goodness for the gate on his room that keeps him in when he does wake up! Here's a picture I snuck this evening - it's not very good but I wasn't going to gamble with waking him up to get a good picture!
The last way he was like Joey this week was when Uncle Tim gave him a lollipop at Eagle Pizza - because Joey gets a lollipop if he eats his pizza! I think this was Tommy's first lollipop, at least that we let him hold. These are cute pics. Not pictured the major meltdown when we wrestled the lollipop from his sticky hands.
sigh... did we skip right over 2 and jump to 3? Joey needs to put Tommy in his place, please!

At least Tommy hasn't pooped in the backyard yet
