Potty Girl!

Congratulations to diaper graduate, Lucy!  I took the summer off with the intention of potty training Lucy so she could attend preschool a few days a week in the fall.  When I tried my first week of summer vacation, she was not so into it and I worried that this plan was not going to come to fruition in time.  Then on July 4th, Lucy declared her independence from diapers and said she was going to use the potty that day.  And she did...  A week into it and she's on a roll with very minimal accidents during the day (so far) and wearing a diaper at night.  She loves being a big girl, wearing her underwear, eating reward M&Ms, and she especially loves the Merida doll she got as a bribe/reward.

Congratulations to Lucy and to all of us!

We are often told by strangers that Lucy looks like a little doll.  Do you think they mean this raised eyebrow, sassy, smirking doll?  Because this is the one she picked from the store!

Kindergarten Graduate

A few weeks ago, Tommy graduated from Kindergarten!  It was quite a celebration of quite an accomplishment.  We are so proud of all the hard work he put in this year and his ability to smoothly transition through many changes and unexpected twists.  He has a really sweet class at a lovely little school and we're very happy to be there.  Nana, Grandma, and Jennifer braved the very cold morning in June to celebrate this big day!

Tommy received the Social Studies Award for Kindergarten

Tommy receiving his diploma.  The screams you hear are from the junior high girls  (not from his family!) and did not happen after every kindergartener's name was called.

Fun in the Sun

Yes, sun.  We had a bunch of it in June and finally the fog has rolled in and summer can begin!

But earlier in June, with the Met Life blimp hovering over our house while some guys played golf in our backyard, we had a rocking water blaster fight.

We've had some other fun summer adventures already including Great America

A few Giants games

Aunt Marietta's 100th birthday party

Lunch with Papa Tom for Father's Day

A trip to the zoo

And a LOT of time in the car!
