Reality Photography & Star Wars

This is probably the most realistic family photo we have yet!

(This may also only be the 3rd or 4th family photo we have yet!)

We were watching Return of the Jedi. A couple of weeks ago Tom dusted off his Star Wars movies and toys and we've been slowly working our way through the films (starting with "Episode 4"). I believe this may capture moments before Leia appears in the gold bikini: a big day in the life of a young boy!

Tommy told me the other day that he and his friend Shen were playing Star Wars at school. Tommy was Luke and Shen (who is exactly one year older and at least 2 feet taller than Tommy) was Darth Vader. He showed me how they pretended to fight with light sabers. So adorable. Not sure how long until he gets in trouble for that at school.

Daily, Tommy takes out the bag of "guys" and plays with the action figures by making them talk and duel. While playing with him one day, I may have inadvertently had 2 of them make kissie noises. oops. Bad form.

I've been told we're almost to the Ewoks...

I have to say, the Stonestown Farmer's Market kinda beats the rest when they throw in the jump house and giant slides. Don't let the face fool you. He loves this and did it 6 times!

DaDa

Somebody's been practicing... She's got both "MaMaMa" and "DaDa" down. She's actually a couple of weeks ahead of Tommy in talking (which is a little scary since Tommy was only 8 months when he said "Mom" and "DaDa" took him another month or so!) Not just babbling she definitely assigns the words to the right people and situations. Usually, though, she says "MaMaMa" in a groaning, moaning voice when she wants something. She says "DaDa" in a smiley, breathy voice when she wants him around.

I'm not sure who is more impatient to be the next: Tom-my or Jen-ni-fer!

Lucy candids

Lucy seemingly spent a lot of time this summer in the stroller watching her older brother and cousins have all the fun. Here's the girl herself showing off some tricks, some cuteness, and a lot of long-sleeves and fleece!

More Fun with Cousins

The weekend of fun with grandparents and far away cousins continued today at the Discovery Museum. We bypassed the splashing and art room today and high tailed it to the Living in Space exhibit. Tommy and Clara were very into dressing up

... Joey was too cool for school in his sandals and socks!

But they enjoyed running around and playing today, though it was windy!

Exploratorium

Grandma and Papa had Joey & Clara for a couple of days so we met up with them at the Exploratorium on Friday along with Nana. Here, in no particular order, are some of our activities.

Clara was the only one brave enough to stand over the cloud. Two chicken boys watched and refused to join her.

Lucy in front of 6 fans - her hair is getting long! No curls in sight at this point!

While we were learning about science, Aunt Jen organized a field trip for the Toms to the new SFO airport terminal which is under construction. Gensler is in charge of this operation, hence the hardhats and field trip privileges.

Root Beer Float Day at the A's Game

$2.00 game tickets. $2.00 root beer floats. $1.00 hot dogs.
And there's baseball? What more could a person want?
Oh yeah - the day off from work / school.

Today we took the day off and went to the A's game. It's the annual root beer float fundraiser for JDF. They raised $31,000.

We missed Sharkie but we were at the Sharks table and did see Dan Rusanowsky.
